BRC/IoP Global Standard – Keith Ogden is a qualified auditor for all categories of the BRC/IoP Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials (Issue 3). He has undertaken well over 100 audits against the Standard since it was first launched in 2001. His current work in this area includes pre-certification audits to help in achievement of Certification plus interim advisory audits for his clients to help prepare for a successful annual Certification Audit.
Effective Control Ltd is not linked to any BRC/IoP Certification Bodies and is therefore willing to act as a sub-contract auditor for any CB.
ISO 9001:2000 – Keith is also a qualified lead auditor for ISO 9001:2000 and has helped several clients to achieve compliance.
HACCP - With an original background in the dairy sector (as both an industry auditor and consultant), Keith is a qualified and experienced HACCP Auditor. In recent years he has undertaken HACCP and Food Safety Audits on behalf of UK Government Departments DEFRA and FSA, mainly in the dairy sector but also at meat, poultry and fresh produce companies. His work has taken him from small family run companies through to large multi-nationals.
Third Party Audits – Food companies and packaging companies have used Keith Ogden to undertake audits of their suppliers to help with their “due diligence” requirements and to ensure compliance with their required standards.
Confirming that suppliers have adequate technical practices in place is a fundamental requirement of most food industry standards. Many companies have some difficulties in providing the necessary resource to do this properly and regularly. Effective Control Ltd can help you to demonstrate that your suppliers have adequate hygiene standards and systems in place.
Internal Audits – Most industry standards require competent, independent auditors to undertake formal internal audits of Hygiene and HACCP standards and systems. Some companies find it beneficial to use Effective Control Ltd to provide these audits for them due to time constraints on internal resource, or lack of internal auditing expertise.
Using a competent third party to undertake internal audits brings many other benefits, including a fresh pair of eyes, an ability to bench mark against similar companies and to help identify areas for continuous improvement. Using Effective Control Ltd for one or more internal audits per year also gives a very important internal and external message about the company’s commitment to hygiene.
Group Audits – Keith Ogden has worked with a number of large companies with many separate manufacturing plants at different locations/countries. He has helped to develop internal Group HACCP and Hygiene Procedures and then been directly involved in the implementation of these across the manufacturing plants and subsequent auditing to confirm compliance.
