DS Smith Packaging
DS Smith Packaging Fordham has recently used Effective Control Ltd to develop and deliver Packaging Hygiene/BRC/IoP Global Standard Refresher Training to the majority of personnel in summer 2011.
A site and product specific course was developed following discussion with company managers. The course reminded participants of the technical and commercial reasons for hygiene and product safety in their company, reviewed the current controls and practices in place and highlighted current opportunities for improvement. Courses ran for a maximum of 75 minutes and had a maximum of 20 attendees. Courses were delivered throughout the working day, including at night to cover permanent night shift staff.
The BRC/IoP Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials requires that the Hazard and Risk Management Team leader shall be able to demonstrate competence and experience of hazard and risk analysis and that the team shall be suitably trained in hazard and risk analysis principles.
Effective Control Ltd recently delivered a Hazard and Risk Management Team Training Course to managers from four DS Smith Packaging plants to help meet this requirement.
Further Refresher Training and Hazard and Risk Management Team Training are planned for 2012.
